Quick help
Talking to players
Tap a player on the Team tab, then Talk. Read his personality first: the right tone depends on it, and the wrong one can cost you trust.
Trades
The Trades tab prices talent, age, and contract value automatically. If a two‑team deal is refused, look for the "Bring in a third team" option before giving up on it.
Saving your career
Progress saves automatically to your device as you play. There's no manual save button and nothing to lose by closing the app mid‑season.
Backing a career up
On the launch screen, tap the share icon beside a career to write it out as a file. Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or mail all work. Restore a career from a backup on the same screen reads one back, on this phone or a new one. No account, nothing uploaded, and it costs nothing.
Rewarded ads & tokens
Every ad in Hardwood GM is optional. Tap the coin counter at the top of the screen, then Watch an ad, to earn a token (spent on a Rewind, extra Action Points, Deep Scout and similar perks), or skip ads entirely and earn tokens for free every third day. Nothing is ever shown to you without asking first, and declining an ad never costs you anything already earned.
Permanent unlocks
Seven one‑time purchases, all optional. None of them makes your team better, and every season can be finished without any of them.
Front Office Pass
Seven more ways to start a career, from a closing title window to a cap disaster to a building nobody has paid for. It doesn't remove ads or change the token economy.
Situations Vol. 2
Six more ways to start a career: hired at the deadline, an expansion franchise, a generational rookie, two clocks, a hometown star out of contract, and a skeleton staff.
Situations Vol. 3
Six more: a superteam with no bench, one last run with an old core, somebody else's lottery pick, a star out until March, one year to save your job, and a GM nobody has heard of.
Challenge Rules
Six career‑long rules, each with its own trophy: no outside free agents, no trades, never over the tax, no rewinds, never trade a first‑round pick, and no contract over a quarter of the cap.
League Architect
Colors for every club, with 12 ready‑made schemes, and a move to a new city for any club at any time, from Front Office → Names. A move is a new look: the market size and the fans stay as they were.
Create‑A‑Player
Design a prospect (position, archetype, one of five backgrounds, name) and send him into this year's draft class. He rolls like any other prospect, and still has to be drafted. Once a season.
Token Boost
A free token every day instead of one every third day, permanently.
Complete GM Bundle
All seven in one purchase, plus any unlock added later, for less than buying them apart. Already own some? Complete the Bundle charges only for the rest.
Try before you buy
On the New Career screen, every locked situation and Challenge Rule can be tried free for one career, once each. No purchase, no account.
Restoring them
Every unlock is tied to your App Store account, not your device. After reinstalling or moving to a new phone, tap the coin counter at the top of the screen, then Restore purchases and they come back automatically, with no need to buy anything twice.
Troubleshooting
My career disappeared
Career saves are stored locally on your device. Reinstalling the app, clearing its storage, or switching devices without a backup will remove it. To avoid that, back a career up first: the share icon beside it on the launch screen writes it out as a file you keep, and Restore a career from a backup puts it back here or on a new phone. Purchases restore independently of your save; see Permanent unlocks above.
An ad won't load
This needs a working connection. If none loads after a few tries, the free token drip (every third day) and every other part of the game still work without watching one.
I bought an unlock but it is still locked
Tap the coin counter at the top of the screen, then Restore purchases. This re-checks your App Store account for the purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, contact support below with your device model and iOS version.
The app looks wrong or crashed
Force-close and reopen the app. Your career is saved automatically, so this doesn't lose progress. If it keeps happening, contact support with the season and day number shown on the Office screen, and what you were doing right before it happened.
