The short version

01Scope of this policy

This policy covers Deadzone — Last Line (the "game"), a single-player zombie tower defence built around an outpost you keep between missions. It applies wherever the game runs — as an installed app on iOS or Android, or as an installable web app (PWA) at its hosted address — and to the rewarded-video advertising described below.

It does not cover any other app, website, or service, including the app stores themselves (Apple's App Store or Google Play), whose own privacy policies govern the purchase, download, and account systems they provide.

02Information we do not collect

The game has no account system and no server backend of its own. As the developer, we do not collect, receive, or have access to:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact detail
  • Your location, contacts, photos, or files
  • Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry — the game does not include an analytics SDK of any kind
  • Your gameplay data, saves, or backup codes — these never reach a server we operate

The only outbound network activity the game itself performs is loading its own files and, where a rewarded ad is shown, communicating with Google's ad-serving infrastructure as described in §5.

03Information stored on your device

Everything about your playthrough — outpost level, cleared sectors, survivors, achievements, and settings — is written to your device's local storage, the same on-device mechanism a note-taking app or offline document uses. Specifically:

What's storedContainsLeaves your device?
Save fileOutpost/building levels, cleared sectors, survivor roster, achievement and contract progress, in-game currenciesNo
PreferencesSound, music, and vibration toggles; combat speed settingNo
Ad watch countersHow many of each rewarded-ad type you've watched today, to apply the daily limitNo

Uninstalling the app, or using Settings → Erase Save inside the game, deletes all of it. Because nothing is mirrored to a server, that deletion is immediate and total on that device — see §10.

04The backup code, and moving between devices

Because your save exists only on one device, the game offers a manual backup: Settings → Back Up / Restore generates a text code (or a small downloadable file) containing your save data, encoded but not encrypted.

This code is created on your device and stays there until you copy it, save it, or send it somewhere — a notes app, a message to yourself, cloud storage you already use. We have no way to see or receive it, and no copy of it exists anywhere unless you make one.

Treat a backup code with the same care as any personal file: anyone who has it can restore your progress onto their own copy of the game.

05Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game offers optional rewarded video ads — watching one grants a bonus (extra resources, a faster build, a survivor reroll, and similar). Nothing in the game is ever locked behind an ad; every placement can be skipped with no loss beyond the bonus itself.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. When an ad is shown, Google (as an independent controller of that data, not as our processor) may collect information such as your advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and ad interaction data, in order to select, deliver, measure, and — where you've allowed it — personalize the ad. That processing is governed by Google's own policies, not this one:

On the web version, no ad network is present — a simulated placeholder stands in, and no ad request is ever made.

06App Tracking Transparency & ad consent

On iOS, the game requests permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before any tracking-capable ad request is made. Declining does not block any ad — you'll still see rewarded ads, just without cross-app tracking used to select them.

The same permission covers ad measurement (§07): the game starts TikTok's SDK only if you allow tracking, and never asks a second time.

For players in the UK and European Economic Area, the game presents Google's consent flow (built to the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) before showing ads, so you can choose what AdMob is allowed to do with your data in those regions.

07Purchases and ad measurement

Purchases. The game sells a few optional things: build tokens and crews that shorten waits, cosmetic skins and outpost decorations, seasonal cosmetic tracks, and bundles of those. It never sells scrap, food, or meds, and nothing is needed to finish the game. Payment happens in Apple's own store sheet, so the developer never sees your name, email, or payment details.

Purchases are validated by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts, and basic device and country information, so it can tell the game what you own and restore it on a new device. It does not receive your name, email, or payment details.

Ad measurement (iOS, only if you allow tracking). From update 2.0.5 on, if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt, the game starts TikTok's Business SDK. It tells TikTok when the game was installed or opened and when a purchase was made, including the purchase amount, so TikTok can measure whether its ads brought you to the game and show the game to people who may enjoy it. TikTok may receive your advertising identifier, IP address, and general device information. If you decline, the SDK never starts and TikTok receives nothing from the game. Turning tracking off later in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking stops it again.

No other third party receives data from the game.

09Children's privacy

The game is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent where you live) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the game has no account system, it has no way to knowingly collect such information from anyone, of any age, in the first place. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this game, contact us using the details in §13 and we will look into it.

10Your choices and rights

Because your save and preferences live only on your device, most of what data-protection laws call "access" and "deletion" rights are already in your hands directly, without needing to ask us:

  • Access — everything the game holds about you is visible in the app itself, under Settings.
  • Export — the backup code in §4 is a full copy of your save, in a form you control.
  • Deletion — Settings → Erase Save, or uninstalling the app, removes it immediately and completely from that device.
  • Ad personalization — manage this through your device's ad-tracking settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads) or, in the EEA/UK, the in-app consent flow in §6.

If you have a request relating to data Google processes as part of ad delivery, Google's own privacy controls (linked in §5) are the right place to exercise it, since that processing happens under Google's policies, not ours.

11Security

Your save data is protected the same way any other data on your device is — by your device's own lock screen, encryption, and operating-system sandboxing. Because nothing is transmitted to or stored on a server we run, there is no central database of player data that could be breached. A backup code you choose to share is only as secure as wherever you choose to keep it.

12Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for a material change, call it out in the game's update notes. Continuing to use the game after a change means you've seen and accepted the update.
